Rome: S2E10

[03.26.07]
Why are all of my favorite shows coming to an end?!?!

Even though it has only been on for two seasons, Rome is probably one of my favorite shows. In fact, I’d say it’s right up there with the recently defunct OC. I’m sad to see it go, but I did think the series finale was handled very well and it came to a good stopping point. I know that Rome takes some liberties with history in order to tell a good story, but it’s never to the point where you just want to throw up your hands in frustration.

Even though they make Marc Antony look like the dude from the Killers and all wussed out, I thought it was a believable portrayal of how things might have actually happened. It was painful to watch Antony’s decline, but I guess I knew it was coming.

I also hate Cleopatra now. What a cunt.

Pullo and Vorenus: the feel good couple for the ages. Rome did a great job of tying these two in with all of the major events throughout the series. Both were extremely likable characters and you could just feel the love between these two. At times it got a bit homoerotic, but never to the point where I would call it “gay.”

By the way, when did calling something “gay” become so un-pc? I always used the term to describe something that I didn’t like or something that is negative… but now if I do it a bunch of gaywads will jump all up my ass.

Ho ho ho. I kid I kid.

The series ends with Octavian coming into power as the first emperor of Rome and Pullo walking into the sunset with his kid. Part of me wishes for a spinoff, but something tells me that the further adventures of Pullo and Son isn’t going to happen.
