The series finale to one of the best television series ever. However I seem to be in the minority that actually liked it. [spoilers]

The Sopranos series finale aired last night and it seems the entire blogosphere has been set ablaze with everyone’s opinions about it. (Not related to Sopranos, but I hate the word blogosphere. More on this at a later date…) It seems that most people were disappointed and let down; many wanted to see Tony end up in jail or gunned down or whatever. It was very anti-climactic, but I thought it was the perfect ending to one of the best television series of all time and nothing you say will convince me otherwise. There’s so much content and meaning in the final episode that I couldn’t even begin to sum up. I could not stop thinking about it all of last night and all day at work today. There were so many possibilities that no will doubt inspire a lot of Sopranos talk for years to come, and the ambiguity of it all will certainly spawn tons of erotic AJ/Rhiannon fanfiction. I think Heather Havrilesky over at salon does a bang up job of summing up the finale and I agree with a lot of the stuff written. Plus the show ended with mother fuckin’ Journey. If that isn’t good television, I don’t know what is.

If it was too much for you, maybe you should go watch Grey’s Anatomy or whatever cookie cutter show is being shown on the networks.

Now for some random thoughts:

+ I watched Reno 911: Miami the other day and thought it was the most average movie ever. I enjoy the television series, but I thought the movie tried way too hard. It wasn’t without its moments (the beautiful motel scene comes to mind), but… meh. I give it a 5.0.

+ Genarlow Wilson is free! If you haven’t heard the story, Genarlow had oral sex with a 15 year old when he was 17 and sentenced to 10 years for it. Despite the fact that laws were changed afterwards to prevent what happened to Genarlow, he was still imprisoned for his crimes. There’s still the matter of the attorney general appealing this decision, but I have a feeling that (and I also hope) that Genarlow remains free. Random fact, my half-orc barbarian is also named Genarlow. Maybe that is why I feel such a bond with Mr. Wilson.

+ I think Chad Ford is a fucking moron and you’d be an idiot to pay for ESPN Insider or whatever it’s called with so many great sport sites out there. I also call bullshit on 90% of what Chad Ford writes. And don’t even get me started and John Hollinger and his “amazing” number crunching. What a fucking crock.

+ Whenever I feel down, nothing cheers me up like the Perry Bible Fellowship.

+ I was watching Adult Swim when I saw a link to AaronKoblin.com after his “Flight Patterns” project aired. He is my new hero.

+ Can someone explain to me the “Rick Roll” phenomena? I’m pretty much impervious since I actually like the song, but what’s the story behind it?
