NFL: Super Bowl Prediction

[02.03.07]
Thank God the season is almost over!

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned this NFL postseason it is “Don’t Bet.” Seriously, it is a huge waste of time and money, you’re lucky if you break even, and it takes away your enjoyment of the game. It really does. I mean, I have yet to meet one person who has gotten rich off of gambling on NFL games, and yet I continue to check the lines every week and try to analyze each team to see who has the better shot at covering (or not covering). It is all a big sham and I could probably do just as well by flipping a coin.

I say all of this now, but come next season I’ll most likely revert back to my old habits.

Okay tomorrow it’s Bears-Colts, line Colts 7. I really don’t have a clue who to take. I’ve watched countless hours of ESPN, read up on a ton of articles by “experts”, and have simulated the game via Madden… and I still don’t know who to take. It doesn’t help that I am extremely hung over as I write this.

Yesterday I snuck out of work a little bit early, got home and proceded to drink. Not just a little to relax… I was drinking for the specific purpose of getting as bombed out of my mind as possible. Maker’s neat. That’s right, it has gotten to the point where I don’t even mix my bourbon with water anymore. Anyway, 3 glasses of those and a couple of shots of brandy and I was gone.

My roommates and I then decided to go to dinner, which was a horrible idea because I should not have been out in public. I ended up falling asleep in a bathroom stall and didn’t even eat my food. At one point I decided to to go out to the car and sleep, but I couldn’t find the vehicle and decided to just go back inside. After leaving, I was vomitting and walking at the same time. One thing I know for sure is that I can never go back to that place again.

Right now my head is pounding and even my fucking eyeballs hurt. It’s good to have a night like that every once in a while though. It reminds me that I am alive because I am usually wishing I was dead the next day.

Oh, but back to the Super Bowl business. I don’t know, let me flip a coin; heads Colts, tails Bears.

Colts (-7).

Thank you and good night.

Last Week: 0 - 2

Overall: 4 - 6
