Jolin Tsai: Let’s Move It
|
This is a pretty racey video… for Cpop that is… |
The last time I reviewed a Jolin Tsai video, I wasn’t too impressed. Granted, it had all of the staples of a good Asian pop video, but Attraction of Sexy Lips had nothing about it that made it stood out. Hopefully Jolin’s latest, Let’s Move It, is a lot better.
(I got this video off of Jpop n’ Kpop. It’s shaping up to be a fairly nice site. Someone should tell the webmaster to maybe add Cpop to the title though…)
O:07 - Right from the getgo there’s some pretty hot dancing. Jolin and her dancers are simulating their heartbeats with their hands or something.
0:12 - I can tell I have a shitty copy of the video. I hate it when I get bad copies because getting good screencaps is next to impossible.

See what I mean? It’s all blurry. Guess I’ll just make due with what I have…

0:20 - That’s a whole lot of leg.

0:28 - Yeah Let’s Move It.
0:30 - I wonder who’s image is screenprinted on her t-shirt. I want to say it’s Elvis Presley… but it looks like it could also be the Marlboro Man.
0:39 - This is a pretty racey video… for Cpop that is…

0:59 - I usually ignore the music when I review “music videos,” but I think I might like this song. It sounds like the intro of one of top model shows are a song you might hear in a strip club around 2 in the afternoon.

1:15 - I usually don’t care if a girl is super skinny, but somebody get this girl a fucking sandwich. I know that nothing tastes as good as thin feels, but this is just getting out of hand.

1:54 - Wait. Why is there a little girl dancing in the video now?

2:15 - One of my favorite things about Jolin has always been her killer smile… but fuckin’ A. Look at the size of those chompers. It’s probably just a bad angle, but she looks like she could have given Ledger a run for his money as the next Joker.
2:23 - There have been no guys so far in the video. I’m calling it. This one is dude free… which is always a bonus in music videos that aren’t mini-stories.

2:30 - YUS!
2:40 - Okay there’s the little girl again. I was going to say that maybe she’s like that one little girl that was all up in the Missy Elliot videos… but the one in this video can’t dance that well at all.
2:59 - The video’s coming to an end. I wonder what the “pose” shot will be. You know there has to be one since this is a cpop video and all…

3:10 - There we go.
Verdict: Wow. I am just as surprised as you are, but I actually like this video. Nothing too fancy or spectacular… just showcasing the artist with a little dancing. I do have to say some of the effects were amateur-ish, and the one scene with the hearts looked like a Barbie commercial, but other than that, Let’s Move It was a fun video to watch.
