It’s been a hectic week… so here’s another old Asian pop review from the vaults.

Eugene - Wuthering Heights Eugene’s hot video about how she wants to love me down gangsta style.

Ah Eugene. Eugene Eugene Eugene. Even though she has a boy’s name, my heart is all hers. I can remember the first time I ever saw her big surgery enhanced goldfish eyes. I was in a friend’s dorm room when he showed me SES’s I’m Your Girl music video. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked.

Okay, maybe that’s stretching it a little, but Eugene has always been one of my favorite Kpop stars. Of course, she’s extremely good-looking, but beyond that, she has this charisma that other singers lack. Seriously. I mean, Bada’s okay looking but her deformed head reminds me of Quasimodo, and Shoo, who is arguably the best looking member of SES, has the personality of a piece of cardboard. (Maybe that’s not really true, but here at konton we take pride in telling LIES.)

Wuthering Heights is off of Eugene’s second solo cd I believe. You’ll have to forgive me if I am wrong, because I haven’t been following the crazy world of Asian pop music for a while. I think that there’s a book and a movie called Wuthering Heights, but I don’t know if the song has anything to do with it. I’m pretty sure the video doesn’t, unless the old movie had a lot to do with getting me turned on.

Unlike most of the videos I like to review, this one doesn’t really have a plot; it’s just Eugene dancing and standing around and eating dinner and such. I do have to say that it is a very pretty and shiney video. Colors are vibrant and it just screams at your eyeballs.

The dancing in this video is also surprisingly good. I remember watching an old FinKL video the other day and I couldn’t help but laugh at the choreography, but here Eugene pops and twists and shakes it like no tomorrow. (see 2:06 into the video…)

And as you can see from the gifs above, there’s also some full body grinding. I guess this is the norm in now. I remember just a couple of years ago dedicating nearly half an article to a single scene where the members of Baby Vox stuck out there asses and another article that revolved around Hyori simulating oral sex. Ah… those were the days.

By the way, that’s one lucky dude. I think would just slump over and die.

Speaking of dancing, here’s one of my trademark anecdotes that I know you guys love so much. A while back I was dancing with this girl I knew at a club. Things were getting pretty hot and heavy on the dance floor when I felt somebody dancing behind me. “Fuck it,” I said, at that point I was pretty hammered and I just continued getting my schwerve on. When the song ended I went to go get a drink. I turned around and saw the hugest hambeast ever in the history of mankind. Seriously. What I thought were her breasts pressed up against my back were in reality folds of fat leaking out from underneath her shirt which was by some miracle of God didn’t bust from her tremendous gut. To this very day I still have nightmares about this incident.

The lesson: always know who you are dancing with. Also, make sure you go to clubs where they don’t let ugly fatty hambeasts in.

I must confess, I also like the song. It has a nice catchy dance beat and Eugene’s vocals go well with it. I have no fancy music learnin’, but there is alot of complex shit going on. It’s one of the few videos I didn’t have to put on mute while reviewing. I don’t listen to kpop music ever, but I just had to download this mp3 legally acquire this song.

I should have gotten this out of the way before now, because I know I don’t want to dedicate 10 paragraphs to how hot Eugene is, but she looks absolutely amazing. There’s not bullshit in this video people; it just focuses on Eugene basically the entire time.

I really really like this video. Everything about it is solid and I could watch it over and over and over. Seriously, it’s videos like this one that got me into Kpop in the first place. And like I said earlier, the music doesn’t make my eardrums want to rupture. Overall, watch it, watch it, watch it.
