I wish people would stop coming to popho looking for Light-L yaoi. [spoilers]

Death Note is finally coming to a conclusion, and episode 36 did not disappoint. Despite the fact the series jumped the shark sometime before L died, I am pumped for the finale. In fact, the last episode was pretty damn good too. I’ve never watched an anime series that could be so terrible at times… and so good at others. I think it’s because there are 37 episodes and it makes it feel like the thing is drawn out, and as you guys know, I am not a fan of series that are.

Oh, speaking of death notes, have you guys heard about latest online scam? From the site:

A new scam cropping up in e-mail boxes across the country is preying not on recipients’ greed or good intentions, but on their fears. The scam e-mail, which first appeared in December, threatens to kill recipients if they do not pay thousands of dollars to the sender, who purports to be a hired assassin.

Seriously, I really don’t understand how people could fall for something like this? And where do I find people who continuously fall for internet scams, because I need some money wired to my Nigerian bank account.

At any rate, episode 36 brought back the great tense atmosphere that had been missing from Death Note for so long. It was this great sense of anticipation and dread that made the early episodes of Death Note fantastic. (Or at least that’s what I think.)

I know that Light, and L, and now Near makes several jumps in logic to reach their conclusions, and some people seem to can’t get over this fact. Come on people, you’re watching a fictional animated movie about a guy who kills other people by writing their names down. You kind of have to suspend your perceptions of reality and shut down your brain to enjoy Death Note. It’s not like Death Note is a Thomas Pynchon book or anything.

By the way, I have started to notice that there’s a ton of Light-L yaoi pictures and fanfiction out there. Uh… I wasn’t actively searching for it… but apparently nearly 40% of popho’s internet traffic comes from people searching for Death Note yaoi on google. It’s kind of disturbing… but I’ll take extra hits anyway I can get them. I’m such a whore for hits. I should get a traffic counter or something.

At any rate, one episode left. Will Light die? Will Near die? Or will Death Note pull a Sopranos on us and suddenly go blank making us think that our hard drives crash?
