Death Note: Impatience E22

[03.18.07]
I miss Ryuuku. ;_;

Is it just me, or has the past few episodes of Death Note been pretty sub par? The new Kira could not have been lamer, the intro and outro music that started with episode 20 sounds horrible (think Japanese version of a high school Death Metal band), and there’s not a lot of the mind gaming going on between Light and L. I can kind of forgive the last one, because part it is a part of Light’s plan, but I can not forgive the semi-homoerotic undertones of Light and L being handcuffed to one another.

I mean, it’s not a regular pair of handcuffs; there’s about 5 - 10 feet of give. But can you imagine what the two have to go through in the mornings? L doesn’t look like he showers too often, but Light seems like the kind of guy who exfoliates. What about when L has to drop a massive deuce from all of those sweets he’s always eating. These are the questions that need to be asked!

I know I said I liked Misa in an earlier post, but she is getting really annoying. This didn’t happen until she lost her memories of being the second Kira and I was hoping that she’d be enjoyable when she regained her memories… but no such luck.

In this episode, everyone pretty much figures out Higuchi is Kira. L and co. set up a plan to try to get Higuchi to reveal just how he is performing his murders using Matsui or whatever as bait. Their plan is flawless, or at least that’s what it seems like at the end of the episode. Something will probably go really wrong in the next episode.

Your post on ep13 got me convinced I should see ep1-10. I saw that all last night. The only anime I liked were Eva and Cowboy Bebop. Well, actually just Eva.

I really hate everything about Death Note except for the same fact that I can’t stop watching it. It’s like, watching Nip/Tuck with a girl or something.

It’s also ridiculous how they assume so much about each other to figuring out their clues.

I’m also getting really tired of that “laid back/cool” attitude they gave L so far. It’s a bad cliche now.

But in any case, I’ll probably be up to ep21 before the sun sets. Thanks you jerk.

No problem.

I’ve said I normally don’t like anime, but for some reason this one stuck.

They do make a lot of assumptions, and at times those assumptions are ridiculous, but it’s part of the magic.

edit: I also like nip/tuck. I have the worst taste ever.

i read the first sentence of the i miss L spoiler because I COULDNT STOP OMG I COULDNT

not that i give a rat’s arse at this point.. i share sooju’s perspectives

i actually stopped watching b/c i realized there were more important things to attend to, like showering in acid and spearing mechanical pencils into my eardrums

i was so into it at first and then the annoying things kept accumulating

the ‘intelligence’ that the writer is trying to impose on L and Light is obviously more than the writer himself can handle… the logic is completely flawed, the assumptions are unsupported and fallacious, all the other characters involved in fighting crime are just plain useless and retarded because heaven forbid we make anyone remotely smart when we’re not smart enough to make Light and L any smarter than the average smart so we have to make them sound really smart by making everybody else sound like retards

and the girl Misa is just annoying. i want to throw intelligent grenades at her to see if she’ll get any smarter or if the grenades will get stupider.

nip/tuck sucks, too HAR HAR HAR HAR

but, i love you, haywood

one day, you’ll come to realize you love me, too
