My interests in Asian pop videos have waned and waxed throughout the years, but there’s always one constant: I dig BoA videos. While none of them are truly spectacular, BoA’s videos consistently deliver what is really important to me:

Hot Asians.

BoA’s latest video is Lose Your Mind, featuring Yutaka Furukawa from Doping Panda. (By the way, Doping Panda is the most Asian name for a band ever.) As usual, I’ll try to do a quick rundown of the video as I watch it.

I’ve decided to embed the video even though there’s a good chance that it’s going to be taken down in a couple of days. They really seem to be going after Japanese pop videos a lot recently. Don’t worry though, I’m sure someone else will post the vid if it’s taken down.

0:05 - Oh yeah. BoA up close and personal.

I’m probably going to get blasted for this, but I don’t think she’s that attractive for a big time pop star. Don’t get me wrong, she’s cute and all, but definitely no Hyori or even Chae Yeon. A lot of her “cuteness” has faded through the years…

Man, what am I saying. I’d probably hack my dong off with a rusty saw in exchanging for sexifying her one time.

0:32 - One area where BoA’s head and shoulders above other pop stars from Asia is that she can really dance. I guess if you were trained from a young age to be a star, you’d be able to as well…

0:33 - I remember back on my old site, I’d get a lot of hits from people searching for Bank of America. I never knew why… but I think I just figured it out.

0:35 - I want her to do what she’s doing to that chair on top of me. Seriously. I’d be all like Old Faithful.

Naw what I’m sayin’? Naw what I’m sayin’?

Har har har.

0:43 - Awesome.

1:05 - Hmmm… I don’t know how I feel about this chick yet. Right now it’s on the verge of “dislike” because she’s taking precious screentime away from BoA.

1:15 - Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the new Hobo clothing line for winter 2007.

1:20 - Okay, I’ve figured out what bugs me that girl in the purple now. (Only took 15 seconds.) It’s not that I dislike her, or thinks she looks like she should be in some 1990s Hong Kong detective drama or in a shampoo commercial… it’s because she seems horribly out of place in this song. Her voice doesn’t blends in well with BoA’s… and… er… she doesn’t fit into the whole model runway thing this video is trying to do.

2:04 - Holy shit! I didn’t see this coming at all. Guitar solo out of no where! Is this Doping Panda? I guess it’s better than K-rap…

2:45 - I like the Asian guy on the right with the cornrows and huge fucking fivehead. The other guy with the Asian fro isn’t too shabby either.

Verdict: Meh. If it weren’t for the fact that I want to hit BoA with the force of a thousand suns, I wouldn’t have even watched the video. The runway concept has been done to death and Lose Your Mind doesn’t even do it well. Still, it’s a BoA video, and even a bad BoA video is better than most of the crap that’s out there.
