Voltron: Secret of the White Lion
It’s been quite a while since I’ve done anything about Voltron. I had a whole bunch of old episodes laying around that I’ve been meaning to review, but for some reason or another, I just haven’t gotten around to it. Until today of course.
I don’t know if the majority of you guys know the general background info of Voltron or not, so a quick brief for the benefits of those that don’t. The Voltron Force was a group of five heroes who piloted big robotic cats and fought an evil alien emperor who resembled a big fish.
Despite the fact that I have lost thousands of dollars gambling on football games and countless man hours “studying” lines, there’s something about the allure of putting a little action on games that I can’t resist. Like a moth to a flame, or Christ Stokes and Marques Houston to little boys, I know that no good can come out of my fascination… 
I’ve been trying to stay away from doing “top lists” post here on popho. I used to do them all the time (i.e. hottest animated honeys, favorite comic book characters, birth control products, etc.), but it seems that everyone is doing them these days. Hell, there are sites that do nothing but top 10s or top 5s. They also seem kind of… well… like a cop-out. It doesn’t really take much writing ability or creativity to come up with top 10 lists. Saying all of this, I still wanted to write this post since I have such fond memories of these games. And also because I possess little writing ability and creativity.
Even though I was somewhat disappointed with PW: Justice For All, I was looking forward to Trials and Tribulations. I knew it was the last of the “GBA remakes,” and, therefore, wouldn’t have a lot of new gameplay mechanics… but that doesn’t really matter right? Because let’s face it, the actual gameplay of the Phoenix Wright series sucks. If we were just judging it on it’s adventure game mechanics, it’d probably score lower than I did on my SATs. Okay maybe it doesn’t suck, but who plays Phoenix Wright games for the actual “gaming” elements anyway?
I’ve been toying around with the look of popho and cleaning up a bunch of unnecessary code that’ll make this place run smoother. I know I’ve been neglecting this site the past year and haven’t done much to it, but hopefully things will change. Hopefully…
If there has been one constant in my life, it is probably this: I really like soap opera-ish shows geared towards teenage girls. I don’t know what it is about them, but I can never get enough. From Passions to 90210 to the OC, I have loved them all and will continue to love such shows probably until the day I die. It’s my one weakness. 
Ever since I heard Back Dat Ass Up way back in my college days, I have been a fan of Cash Money. Nobody does ostentatious rap as well as these guys. I remember I used to review videos from the Cash Money stable on a regular basis… they were just so funny/over the top/stunnin’.
